60 Odd Poets - The Magnificent Six
This volume of Sixty Odd Poems features six magnificent poets, who were inducted into the Order of the Sixty Odd by appearing at sixtyoddpoets.substack.com in early 2024. They have all inspired, accompanied or helped me on my journey through the world of poetry. Many of them have done all three. Flavours of South Yorkshire and Derbyshire are present in the mix, particularly in pieces written by Phil Hammond and Tim Fellows, who both tell tales of Doncaster, but also look to other shores in pieces celebrating the music of America and the vistas of Spain Wayne Riley and Paul Dyson are both accomplished fine artists, and bring something of this sensibility to their poetry, Wayne coming from a very personal angle, and Paul celebrating the music and art that inspire him in his creative journey . Lesley Merrin formerly a teacher of English Literature, and Geoff Lowery, an ex-policeman, contribute unique perspectives, relating stories, sharing laughter and both reflecting, in their own way, on getting older
